Devonport/Burnie is one of three BDA Chapters, which were formerly part of the Building Designers Association of Tasmania (BDAT).
BDAT was, until 30th June 2014, an incorporated association and a state member of the Building Designers Association of Australia (BDAA). At that time the members of BDAT voted to dissolve their state association and join with building designers from New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and some members from BDA South Australia, and decided to reform as a members based association called Building Designers Australia (BDA).
BDAT was originally formed in 1995 to represent building design professionals in Tasmania and has enjoyed continued membership growth since that time; the association has been actively involved in the development of education and training standards relevant to the building design profession and was recognised by government and educational institutions as the leading professional body for building designers in Tasmania.
Today, within the BDA format, Devonport/Burnie is recognised as a Chapter, still representing the interests of members with a purpose to promote and advance the practice and profession of building design in its own region as well as the state of Tasmania.
The Devonport/Burnie Chapter is an active group of building designers who are keen to uphold their responsibilities to the consumer and to the profession. The aim is for our members to have satisfied clients whose criteria has been met in every respect.
If you are an active building designer or an associated industry participant in Tasmania and want to become a BDA member please see the Becoming a Member page of this web site.
