The BDA Illawarra Chapter is centred by Wollongong 70km south of Sydney linking members from Bundeena to the north, Nowra to the south and the Southern Highlands to the west.
The landscapes throughout these regions are dramatic and picturesque providing unique opportunities for inspirational design that can positively contribute to how people live, work and play within their local communities whilst creating sustainable design solutions compatible to location and environment.
BDA Illawarra Chapter meet bi-monthly, interacting with other BDA chapters to provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities for members. Amongst BDA members, regular discussion and collaboration enhances the professionalism of building designers in their practices. BDA also provides opportunities for mentoring of BDA student members through the BDA mentoring program.
The intent of Building Designers Australia is to assist its members, in their role as building designers, to achieve the highest standards of professionalism, building design and documentation for their clients, the industries they service and the built environment of the community as a whole.
