Full Membership (Building Designer)

As a Full Member, you are not just part of the Building Designers Association of Australia (BDAA); you are positioning yourself as a leader in the building design profession. Full Members are required to maintain CPD compliance by completing 10 Formal and 10 Informal CPD points annually, as well as holding valid Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII).

Eligibility Criteria

Full Membership is available to building designers who have established themselves in the industry. To qualify, applicants must provide proof of relevant qualifications or professional experience in building design. You must demonstrate a commitment to upholding high standards of competency and ethics within the profession.

To apply for Full Membership, you will be required to submit the following documentation and attach with your online application for Full Membership; 

If you have a state-based Individual license or registration, we require:

  • a copy of your Individual license/registration which clearly states your name, class type and expiry date (License/Registration Card or Certificate)
  • a copy of your Professional Indemnity Certificate of Currency (PI CoC)

If you do not hold state-based license or registration, we would require the additional information below to support your application:

  • Two recent projects that were authored by the applicant
  • Evidence of completion of appropriate tertiary qualifications in your practising field
  • Evidence of a minimum of two years’ experience in the design profession. This can be supplied in the way of a short resume outlining your experience
  • Certificate of Currency of Professional Indemnity Insurance (PI CoC)
